    Gemini Strapless Bimini Kit

Thanks FT. I like pool noodle idea. Improvise, adapt, and overcome. ;-) Yeah, for a while I would just snap the rear struts up and out of the way when we hit a fishing spot. Then every other time we start moving to another area, I'd forget to put them back down and the bimini would collapse. Then sometimes I'll leave them down and I'll find myself fighting a fish while trying to get the damn struts out of the way. This keeps me from having to think all together. lol It does fold up nicely though.

    R305 lists to starboard

My Sailfish lists to Starboard a bit too, but not as dramatically as your R305. There is one mention of list to port here http://forum.robalo.com/index.php?/topic/5291-r305-list-to-port-at-dock/ and another with a better explanation here http://robaloboatowners.net/forums/index.php?/topic/6470-r305-list-to-port-at-dock/ . That 250 pounds of water would help a bit I'm sure, but it may not fully correct. You'll note the guy with the port list has a diesel generator, hot water heater and air conditioning. Maybe Robalo made changes to counterbalance those items causing a list to starboard if you don't have those options?

    Gemini Strapless Bimini Kit

Looks real good and I wish mine had been like that. I put bimini cleats on the floor of my R207 to hold the bimini when down and that worked great. Boatel I was in required putting the bimini down before storage (probably worried about damage liability). The thing I tried for fishing and being able to use the mid ship rod holders was folding up the back bimini rods and using a pool noodle to brace the bimini somewhat similar to the cross bar rod at the top of yours. It actually worked pretty well and never let it collapse, but it bounced a lot. That cross bar would have done a better job and looked better too. I'd opt for what you did over the factory installed. Looks like it would fold up well for travel and storage too.

    Vacuflush Switch

The switch will turn on the vacuum and the key operates the macerator. The vacuum switch will not operate when the tank is full. If the full light is on you will need to have it pumped out prior to operating the toilet.

    Vacuflush Switch

Hello, Just purchased a 2011 Robalo 265 with a vacuflush head system. I'm looking for some information the proper use of the system. I'm familiar with the use of the head, but no the switch. It is equipped with the switch shown below. I will be using the boat inland mostly so I don't to accidentally pump out overboard. What is the proper use of the switch? I'm assuming the toggle on/off has to be on to use the head. I'm also assuming the key switch is used to pump overboard? (you know what happens when you assume) Thank You for any assistance.

    T-Top benefits?

My last boat had a t-top and there are a couple of things I would add to that list. One, it's a great place for your guests to hang on when it's rough out. Another, if there's an electrinics/radio box installed, you can mount stereo speakers there. Much easier to listen to while underway. Arguably, adding a t-top is much better for resale. At least with larger boats. Like you said, storage is a premium on cc's. Only downside is it could be a hindrance if there are low bridges where you usually fish. JMO

  11. Happy holidays everyone. I added a gemini strapless bimini kit to my R207. Getting rid of the rear support struts really adds space to fish when the bimini is up. Only been offshore a couple of times since I installed them and it works great! Well made and the quality of the SS is better than the factory bimini. Not cheap, but much less than installing a hardtop or arch. So far, very happy with my purchase. Gemini Strapless Bimini Kit

R160, trailering with bimini folded down

h2o, thanks for sharing. Just used your idea and made a bimini holder for my R207. I only plan to use it when the boat is covered and stored. Much easier this way. Not as pretty as yours, but gets the job done.

    R305 lists to starboard

I have a new to me 2013 Robalo R305 that lists to starboard sitting at the dock. Underway requires uneven trim tabs to compensate for the starboard list(weight). Minimal personal items are onboard. Water tank is to port and almost empty. If it were full I don’t think 30 gallons of water weight would be enough to level to boat. Cabin bilges are dry. Has any other R305 owner seen this issue? Appreciate any advice on how to troubleshoot this problem. Thanks

    Motor upgrade R160

I re-powered my old boat with an ETEC 150 replacing an old Evinrude. The concern was weight and the ETEC was the best choice from both weight and cost. ($4000 less installed) I have since bought new Robalo with a Yamaha. Here is the difference. The ETEC is not as quiet at idle but is quiet. At full speed the ETEC is probably quieter than the Yamaha. The ETEC requires significantly less maintenance compared to any 4 stroke, but you must use $50/gallon 2 cycle oil (100:1 ratio). Winterizing the Yamaha was a pain but I can do the ETEC at the ramp with the onboard 2 cycle oil. If I knew I could have forced Robalo to supply the new boat with an ETEC I would have. They don't advertise this option.

    Motor upgrade R160

The purpose of the self bailer is to drain the boat if a lot of water comes on board. Very rough water, heavy rain, etc. The floor will drain into the bilge. You'll still have an on board bilge pump. Unless something really screwy happened I can't imagine the water getting above the floor.

I can actually go to the E-Tec 90 for the same weight as the 75.

    Motor upgrade R160

I just don’t want my wife and I standing in a puddle of water all the time. I also need the extra HP because of my altitude.

Did you transfer the warranty? If it's sun damage (neglect), it probably won't be covered.

    Motor upgrade R160

The E-Tec is a nice engine. Not as quiet as a 4 stroke. But it's quicker out of the hole. How important is the self bailing cockpit to you?

    R180 f150 Engine Height

I did you raise the motor all the way up, the Rev 4 doesn't mind being all the way up, also you can ease the steering effort by moving the trim tab on the cavitation plate a fraction of an inch

    Motor upgrade R160

I'm looking at buying the R160 however I live at a higher altitude and I'm not sure about the 70hp. I will lose 10-20% hp due to the high altitude. Upgrading to the 90 sounds like the best route but I've heard it negates the self bailing of the boat. My thought is to upgrade to the Evinrude E-Tec 75 instead... It is about 60 lbs heavier than the 70 but 40 lbs lighter than the 90. Running half a tank of gas I feel like its the best of both worlds... Any thoughts???

    R180 f150 Engine Height

Is 5300 you WOT trimmed out? If so I’d want to be closer to 6K lightly loaded. What’s the engine height.

    R180 f150 Engine Height

Got the Rev 4. My motor tops out at 5300 rpm. Won't go higher. 2013 R180 with a Yamaha 150. Grip is way better than the Yamaha 3 blade. Steering is harder with the Rev 4. At low speeds it is very reactive. Takes more attention. The 3 blade Yamaha was very easy to steer. Rattled occasionally. The Rev 4 has a very slight rattle at low rpm. Not enough to matter. Flowtorq 4 hub. At 4200 RPM I'm around 32 mph Maybe 33. At 5300 RPM I am about 39. I don't remember breaking 40. In turns trimmed up, the Rev 4 sticks well. The Yamaha would cavitate and loose grip right away. Rev 4 will let me stay on plane at 3200 rpm. At 3400 rpm its pretty solid on plane. Fuel millage is about 3.8 MPG from 3600 rpm to 4200 RPM. Maybe 3.4 or 3.5 at 4200. Best MPG would just hit 4 with all just right. At 1000 rpm and about 7 mph it was getting about 6 mpg.

    Cushions on R200

All warranty claims for Robalo boats must be done through a dealer, so you need to contact your local dealer.

    Cushions on R200

I just purchased a 2016 R200 each cushion has excessive sun damage on the darker colored material while the lighter color is just fine. Since the boat is only three years old I would like to know what could be done to correct this.

Too much water entering hull for some reason

Check all of your thru hull fittings. If it's possible to get the boat out of the water, fill the bilge with water. A lot of times this can help locate the leak.
